William King Museum of Art seeks a full-time, detail-oriented, strategic, and collaborative Director of Finance and Administration to oversee the Museum’s financial operations, budgeting, accounting, human resources, and administrative functions. This leadership position plays a vital role in ensuring the Museum’s fiscal integrity while supporting its mission to inspire creativity and enrich the community through the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, and cash flow.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports for leadership and the Board of Trustees.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, banking, investments, and grant financial reporting.
- Develop and monitor the Museum’s annual operating budget and long-term financial planning.
- Administer employee benefits, retirement plans, and human resources functions.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, tax filings, and internal financial controls.
- Supervise administrative staff and oversee office operations, insurance, and financial policies.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Finance and Executive Committees and support Board reporting.
- Report to the Museum Director on strategic planning and organizational management.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Museum Director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with progressively responsible financial management experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and financial analysis.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism.
