This summer’s art camp theme is Wildlife Around the World. This summer camp will consist of four fun weeks that discuss a new different biome each week! Children will be influenced by works that will be seen in our new Worrell Collection of wildlife art.
Campers will have the opportunity to experiment with various artistic mediums every single day, no matter if they are discussing the depth of the oceans or our own Appalachian backyards!
We also have one week of a Wildlife Art School that is exclusive for middle and high school students in Washington, Smyth, Russell, and Grayson counties. This is a fully-funded single day-camp style experience. More information about this camp is available below in the weekly descriptions.
Early Childhood Camps for ages 4–6 run from 9 AM to 1 PM / $150 per week
Youth Camps for ages 7–9 and 10–12 run from 9 AM to 4 PM / $200 per week

Jungles and Forests
June 8th-12th
This week of art camp will be focused on creatures and plants that you can find in the most ecologically diverse places on Earth! From cold northern deciduous forests to the hot and humid rainforests, students will create artwork focused on the living creatures in these lush environments.
Registration deadline is May 25th.
Oceans and Sea Creatures
June 15th-19th
Splash into this week of camp with oceans and sea creatures! Campers will discuss all the various fauna and flora that you can find in the most mysterious environment on Earth. Then, we will create lots of artwork out of various mediums that are inspired by the marine world.
Registration deadline is June 1st.
Arctic and Desert
June 22nd-26th
The ecosystems of this week may be empty and arid, but our creativity will not be! Students will be inspired by our most extreme environments on Earth. Desert and arctic biomes give us some of the most interesting creatures to study and campers will have many mediums to create art of these life forms.
Registration deadline is June 8th.
Appalachia
July 6th-10th
Our final week of art camp brings us back home to our own Appalachian environment. Students will take a look into their own backyards to study what they can see all around them! We will create artwork of animals and plants that live in these mountains and take the time to appreciate what we can observe every day.
Registration deadline is June 22nd.
Art Camp is funded in part by the Stuart Endowment Fund.
