Outreach Art Instructor (Full Time)

Job Description:
William King Museum of Art is seeking a full-time outreach instructor to plan and deliver youth art education programming, including but not limited to VanGogh Outreach, Art Camp, Youth Art Classes, and field trips. The primary focus of this position is teaching the VanGogh Outreach program for second and third grade students. The instructor will deliver hands-on process-based art instruction; teach a broad range of arts topics that relate to other fields including history, science, and mathematics; demonstrate artistic techniques; and contribute to the development of lesson plans for various programs, along with various other duties as assigned. This position is best suited for a reliable and courteous emerging art professional with a passion for instructing children, a broad knowledge base in art and history, and the ability to independently adapt planned lessons to changing situations.

Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in fine arts, art education, or art history
• Previous experience working with children
• A valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check

Qualifications
• Reliable, organized, and independent
• Knowledgeable in history and geography
• Able to adapt to different teaching situations
• Experience in public elementary education
• Knowledge of teaching philosophy
• Able to provide a schedule of availability several months in advance
• Knowledgeable in various fine arts techniques
• Available to assist with other programs including field trips and summer art camps
