The “Korshak Collection: Illustrations of Imaginative Literature” exhibit opened to the public on September 29th. This exhibition includes selections from a unique collection of illustration artwork originally designed to adorn books, covers and posters. These fantastical pieces of work feature fairies, witches, living skeletons, and plenty of aliens.
The following week we hosted our members only reception, where Russell Facemire, Curator of Fine Art & Worrell Collection of Wildlife Art provided commentary on the exhibit. This event was catered by A-Z Catering.
On Friday October 9th we hosted a public tour of the exhibit where Russell was able to go more in depth about the work. As an added treat, local fantasy artist Charles Vess joined the tour.
On October 14th, WKMA hosted another members only event, Members’ Morning. Russell gave a special presentation on the exhibit, while guests sampled coffee and pastries from The Girl and the Raven.
The “Korshak Collection: Illustrations of Imaginative Literature” is on view through January 24th.
