William King Museum of Art celebrated First Friday in conjunction with the Town of Abingdon this past Friday, October 2nd from 5-8pm. In honor of the Halloween season, our very talented Art Lab Assistant Michael Gerber led visitors in making their very own monster shadow puppets. The Art Lab also had three new exhibits on display, Roger Dean Grubb’s “Visual Overload,” which features gorgeously detailed woodcuts; Greg Howser’s “From the Lands of Zollicoffer,” shows beautiful fantastical creatures; and finally our group “Dolly Tribute Show.” First Friday visitors also got to enjoy an array of delicious snacks and had the opportunity to visit our resident artist studios.
