On April 24th, Virginia Highlands Community College partnered with William King Museum of Art’s Art Lab for a book making workshop as part of VHCC’s Arts Array program.
In this workshop, led by Art Lab’s Assistant Director of Higher Education and Digital Arts Alice Salyer, students had the opportunity to create a sewing-free, hardcover accordion-style book using basic folding, gluing, and cutting techniques. Students were also encouraged to explore various ways to embellish and personalize their books.
Arts Array is a series of events and workshops ranging from lectures and films to hands-on crafts that are sponsored by VHCC.
