Here is your opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of darkroom film photography and alternative processes. \n\nLast in a 6-session series\, Medium Format Photography introduces shooting with medium format cameras. You will learn hands on how to load film\, choose your exposure manually\, and properly use various medium format cameras including Holga\, Mamiya\, and Hasselblad.  \nAll supplies will be provided. Students will share provided medium format cameras during the class day. Students are encouraged to bring their own medium format camera if they have one.  \nStudents do not need to register for the entire series\, they can take only the classes that work for them.  \nMorgan Ford is a Fine Art Photographer from Johnson City\, TN. Morgan has been an artist all of her life\, but after her first 35mm photography course in High School she fell in love with the process of light and catching that brief moment in time. At the age of 20 years old she moved to California and studied photography at Brooks Institute of Photography where she learned to shoot and develop her own film. Morgan has had exhibits all over the country showing her Fine Art B&W Photography of beautiful countrysides\, wild horses\, and dilapidated buildings. Cameraless photography techniques will be explored including cyanotypes\, photograms\, lumen prints\, and printing on various surfaces with liquid emulsion will be explored. Printing and developing with sustainable processes will also be included like caffenol\, anthotypes\, and salt fixers. Students who are interested in fine art alternative photography processes are encouraged to apply. \nAll chemical supplies will be provided. Here is your opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of darkroom film photography and alternative processes. \n\nFirst in a 6-session series\, B&W Film Photography introduces students to the basics of shooting with a 35mm film camera. The first part of the class will be spent going over basic camera use and exposure of shooting a roll of Black & White film on the Museum campus. You’ll learn how to load film in your camera\, receive tips for shooting manually\, and receive 1 on 1 time with the instructor to ask any questions. Students will learn various techniques including coil and slab-building to create a variety of functional and decorative projects. Each class will focus on a different project. DESCRIPTION:NOTICE: The WKMA campus will be undergoing construction in 2024-2025. This may affect traffic patterns\, navigation\, and accessibility to some studios. Updates and notices will be posted and issued to students enrolled in classes.  \nBeginner Clay: Handbuilding \nClass Type: Studio \nInstructor: TBA \nCost: $30 per session \nDate(s): Tuesdays 8/20-10/8 \nTime: 5:30-7:30 p.m. \nLocation: Clay Studio\, Art Lab\, lower level (Russell Rd end) \nSkill level: Beginner \nAudience: Teen-Adult \nDescription: This class is an introduction to hand-building with clay. Students will learn various techniques including coil and slab-building to create a variety of functional and decorative projects. Each class will focus on a different project. Take all the classes to build skill\, or come to just a few (under 3 lbs. of clay) to build confidence and coordination. \n*Students will receive 6 sessions of instruction and work time and will return for glazing session. Unglazed work will not be completed by the instructor. There will be a delay of 1-2 weeks between the instructional sessions and the glazing session to allow for dry and fire time. All supplies and firing fees included. \nRegistration Deadline: One week prior to class
