They will be able to explain how artists use line weight to create depth\, movement\, and emphasis in their artwork. Students will be able to apply their knowledge by creating a drawing that uses varied line weights to show a specific mood or feeling. \n  \n9:30–11:00 AM: ages 14–16+ \n11:00 AM–12:30 PM: ages 10–13 \n2:00–3:30 PM: ages 7–9 \n  \nThis series of youth art classes is designed to provide homeschooling students with affordable\, quality\, and fun arts education. Classes will meet once a week on Wednesdays from September through April. All classes can be taken individually but\, when taken consecutively\, provide a complete curriculum of fine arts knowledge and techniques. Students who participate in any Homeschool Art classes have the option to submit work to the Homeschool Art Student Exhibition that will be on display in the children’s wing of the museum from April to May. \nProjects in the first semester (September-December) will be based on the fundamentals of art \nThe registration fee is $10 per class.* All supplies are included. \nDue to the demand for the program\, we are going to cap the registration at 15 students per class to ensure that all students are getting the time and attention that they deserve\, and to guarantee that our classrooms can provide the necessary space. DESCRIPTION:Portraits: Introduction to Drawing Faces  \nBy the end of this lesson\, students will be able to draw a human face using basic proportional guidelines (eyes in the middle\, features in the correct spots). They will be able to define “value” as the lightness or darkness of a color (or pencil stroke). They will demonstrate how to create at least three different values (light\, medium\, dark) using a pencil.
