Location: Clay Studio (Art Lab lower level; stair access only)

Skill level: New Learners

Audience: Teen – adult

Description: Let’s play in clay! In this class you will be led through tutorials and learn how to use and create templates to build functional pottery pieces. On Tuesdays we will create and on Thursdays we will refine. All pieces will be fired at the end of the series, with a final free class week for you to glaze your pieces (required). Take one week or the whole series to build your skills– and your pottery collection.

  • 4/1 & 4/3 – Week 1: Small nesting bowls*
  • This Class:  4/8 & 4/10 – Week 2: Divided snack dish*
  • 4/15 & 4/17 – Week 3: Round lidded box*
  • 4/22 & 4/24 – Week 4: Cup and saucer*
  • 4/29 & 5/1 – Week 5: Swirl bowl*
  • 5/6 & 5/8 – Week 6: Butter bell*
  • 5/13-5/22 Weeks 7 & 8 – No class; drying and bisque firing period
  • *5//27 & 5/29 Week 9: Required attendance for all participants to apply food safe glaze to your bisque-fired work. No additional fee for this week.
