CURATOR OF FINE ART manages changing exhibition program in multiple
galleries, encompassing a balanced schedule of historical and contemporary
art and craft through 6-8 exhibits annually.  Position works in concert with
second curator, who manages decorative arts and regional heritage program.
Responsibilities include conceptualizing, researching, organizing,
installing and registration for AAM accredited museum.  Good oral and
written communication skills necessary. Masters degree in Museum Studies

William King Museum:  Center for Art and Cultural Heritage, located in
Abingdon, Virginia on 22 acres of property in historic Abingdon,
Virginia, and is housed in the 1913 William King High School building, which
has been renovated and adapted as a high-security museum facility.  The
Museum presents the cultural heritage of Southwest Virginia & Northeast
Tennessee within the context of world cultures and the continuum of artistic
trends today. The only accredited museum in far Southwest Virginia, the
Museum¹s changing exhibition program annually features 8-10 exhibits of
loaned objects of original art in three galleries.
